Several members of Geordie Chapter Committee attended the H.O.G. HOT ROC (H.O.G. Officer Training Regional Officer Coordination) course tonight. It’s an ongoing programme of training covering many aspects of managing a chapter.

Tonight’s course, Creating Great Content, looked at how we can maximise engagement with our photos, text and content on our social media posts, chapter magazines and websites.

It was very interesting, and will hopefully lead to more and better posts in future.

Geordie Chapter Committee convened the regular meeting last night, with Barry in the chair taking us through proceedings.

There was a lot discussed with the main topics being: our very own Heart ‘n’ Soul rally, the forthcoming Harley-Davidson Unity Ride (more details soon!) and forthcoming Chapter events as we see current lockdown restrictions easing. We’ll have some more information as soon as it is available.

Chapter Meeting, April 2021

We had a fantastic Chapter meeting tonight with more than forty people attending, via Zoom. Barry gave a few introductions, then handed straight over to Vanessa Ruck, aka The Girl on a Bike.

Vanessa was in a very serious accident in 2014 and, since then, has taken up motorcycling in a big way. She does enduro and trials riding extensively … and also rides a Harley-Davidson. It was a fascinating talk.

Barry then took a quick run through other matters, including a few words from the Committee. Barry tells us that he’s received a form from North Tyneside Council relating to a licence for our own Heart ‘n’ Soul rally. It looks incredibly complicated, especially relating to restrictions around social distancing etc. He’ll let us know in due course …
