Hello everyone!

I’m Barry Gillespie, Director of the H.O.G. Geordie Chapter #9271. Welcome to our website.

The Geordie Chapter is one of the many UK-based Chapters and, back in 1997, it was formed to bring local Harley-Davidson riders together for ride outs, activities, having fun and promoting motorcycling in the region. 2017 sees us celebrating our twentieth year!

I joined the Geordie Chapter in 2005 and have made some life-long friends. I’ve travelled many miles with them within the region, with other chapters and to rallies in the UK and Europe.

The Geordie Chapter really is about having fun and enjoying each other’s company. We organise lots of events for our members and encourage everyone to participate and get involved. Our activities officers is always on the look-out for new things for us to do. We have monthly ride-outs during the riding season, informal weekly runs and seasonal events such as summer barbeques and a Santa Run at Christmas. We have regular social evenings and monthly Chapter meetings when we all get together for a good catch-up.

We have a fantastic Ladies of Harley (L.O.H.) group in the Geordie Chapter. They get together regularly and hold lots of activities throughout the year to promote awareness and raise the profile of female motorcyclists. They get great support from everyone in the Geordie Chapter, and we are the only Chapter to have three active L.O.H. officers.

When we are out on a Chapter ride, our Road Crew take care of us and safety is paramount to them. They all support our Head Road Captain and they are a very dedicated bunch. They spend a lot of time researching new routes, checking them and double-checking them so that everything is perfect when we set off. They really do try incredibly hard to make sure we all enjoy every minute of the ride. The only thing they can’t take care of is the weather!

In 2015, we brought the Heart & Soul Rally back to life. We’re at a new venue, Percy Park Rugby Club in North Shields, with a new date in late July. It’s right bang in the middle of the summer and the support we’ve had is amazing!

If you are not a member of the Geordie Chapter, I do hope that you will have a good look through our website, see what we have to offer and then join us. You can come along to some of our events as a guest before you make up your mind. We’re always happy to welcome new members to the Geordie Chapter. If you have any questions, get in touch using the Contact Us form and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

All your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them, especially riding with the Geordie Chapter!
